Abstract
939,494. Coils for dynamo electric machines. ROTAX Ltd. Dec. 20, 1961 [Dec. 22, 1960], No. 44032/60. Class 35. In a series electric motor excessive no-load speeds and instability are prevented by a short circuited winding housed in the armature slots in addition to the normal armature winding. The winding of copper foil consists of an annular ring 5 having radial fingers 6 which are bent to lie along the bottom of the slots and are soldered to copper sleeve 9, and the armature winding wound above it. (The Provisional Specification refers to the extra winding being: (i) similar to the normal armature winding, (ii) turns of wire round each tooth, (iii) a stamping defining spaced apart side members e.g. round each tooth, positioned above the normal armature winding and possibly short circuited.)
