[Also in Group XXXV] A circuit for switching a lighthouse lamp, sound signal or other load 1 comprises a transformer 2, the primary winding of which is connected in series with the load and an D.C. supply, the secondary winding being shortcircuited by a relay 5 when the load is to be energized. The relay may be fed from a rectifier supplied from a separate winding on a slipdown transformer. For periodic flashing of the lamp a synchronous motor-operated cam 7 and oil immersed contacts 6 may be employed.
