Abstract

936,896. Securing seat cushions. EVERTAUT SEATING Ltd. Aug. 13, 1962 [Oct. 6, 1961], No. 35961/61. Class 52 (4). A seat bottom comprises a pan or base engaged at its edge by a grooved skirt integral with and depending from a resilient, moulded cushion. In one embodiment (Fig. 1), the U- or J-section skirt 4 of the foam rubber cushion 3 is sprung into engagement with a depending flange 2 of a sheet metal base 1. In another embodiment (Fig. 3), the L-section skirt 4 engages over the rebated edge 20 of a plywood base 10. A polyvinyl chloride outer skin 6 or 60 may be provided, e.g. by spraying on slush moulding. Specification 752,215 is referred to.
