Abstract

936,480. Centrifugal separators. BAUER BROS. CO. March 30, 1960 [April 1, 1959], No. 11288/60. Class 23. An hydrocyclone for separating a liquid suspension of solids into fractions has a vortex finder 25 shaped to deflect the outer vortex from the inner vortex which is discharged through the finder. It is stated that the shape of the finder prevents air or liquid being drawn through the apex opening into the inner vortex.
