Abstract
936,182. Valves. HATTERSLEY (ORMSKIRK) Ltd. May 20, 1960 [May 26, 1959; Sept. 2, 1959], Nos. 17833/59 and 29881/59. Class 135. A fluid control valve, for example for a radiator in a central heating system, includes a body part 11 having inlet and output ports 15, 16 and an adjustable, resilient, ported sleeve 12. The latter may be of nylon or polytetrafluorethylene, or according to the first Provisional Specification of synthetic rubber and is located on a sleeve 13 of phosphor bronze or brass, both sleeves having a slit 12c cutting diametrically across one port and a pair of detents 17 to receive projections 18a on a hand wheel 18 secured by a ring 19. Two bolts 20 engage arcuate slots in the hand wheel to limit the angular adjustment which is indicated by a pointer 22 moving over a marked ring 23. The part of the hand wheel within the valve body is of metal and is sealed by an O-ring 24 while the remainder is of plastic material. The ports 15 and 16 may be in line with each other instead of at an angle of 90 degrees. Dimensions for the valve parts are given.
