Abstract
935,428. Iron salt vesicular image-forming materials. W. ZINDLER, [trading as LUMOPRINT ZINDLER KOMM.-GES.]. June 23, 1960 [July 7, 1959], No. 22034/60. Addition to 922,595. Drawings to Specification. Class 98 (2). To improve the sensitivity and image quality and stability of the ferric salt vesicular material of the parent Specification, there is added to the ferric salt coating or to an undercoating, e.g. containing a toning agent, if this is provided, a dicarboxylic acid containing at least 10 carbon atoms. The preferred acid is sebacic acid and this may comprise from 5 to 10% by weight of the ferric salt coating. Oxalic, citric or tartaric acids and a whitening agent, e.g. a white pigment or an optical brightener may also be included in the coatings, while the gelatin used as the coating vehicle may also include gum arabic. A colour-forming agent may be included in the ferric salt or undercoating layers. Examples are salicylaldoxime, Malachite green, and Rhodamine B giving brown, green and red colours in the exposed areas.
