Abstract
923,196. Cooking-vessel immersion heater mounting. GENERAL ELECTRIC CO. Ltd. Sept. 5, 1961 [Sept. 27, 1960], No. 33152/60. Class 39 (3). An electric heating element is held within, and secured to, a cooking vessel-e.g. a fish fryer-by a releasable member, release of which operates an electric switch which breaks the supply circuit of the element. Sheathed element 2 forms a unitary structure with a terminal box 5 which includes a plunger 10 spring-urged to a position in which it breaks the supply circuit within the box. In use, element 2 is held in the operative position by guard piece 6, which has flanges (Fig. 2, not shown) engaging with lugs on the vessel, the plunger being forced into the " circuit closed " position by abutment against member 11.
