Abstract
Cinnamyl acetate is produced by pyrolysis at 120-550 DEG C. of 3-acetoxymethoxy-3-phenylpropyl acetate, either in the liquid or vapour phase and in the absence or in presence of an acid catalyst, such as phosphoric acid on silica gel. In one of the examples, phenylpropyl acetate is among the specified by-products.
