Abstract
922,134. Cavity resonators. ELEKTRONIKUS MEROKESZULEKEK GYARA. July 8, 1960 [July 8, 1959], No. 23945/60. Class 40 (8). A cavity resonator F of irregular cylindrical form is tuned by means of a metallic member Ft movable in an arcuate path between a central position (Fig. 4), where it lies between two indented portions Kt of the end walls, and an outer position (Fig. 3) where it lies within a bulge Ku of the side wall. In its central (low frequency) position, the tuning member lies within a field of maximum electric intensity and the indentations Kt form terminal capacitances at both ends of the cavity. The indentations are so shaped that their effect diminishes as the member is rotated towards its outer position where the magnetic field of the cavity is at a maximum. It is stated that the tuning member effects a change in the field configuration of the resonator whereby tuning over a frequency ratio of 1 : 2.2 is possible. The change in frequency is approximately linearly related to the movement of the member.
