Abstract

920,056. Sealing ampoules. H. TATIBANA. Dec. 19, 1961, No. 45532/61. Class 56. An apparatus for fusion sealing ampoules (Fig. 1) comprises a conveyer 4 which carries ampoules 1 at a uniform speed to transport them and against the friction of a presser belt 6 to rotate them, a gas burner 7, a rotatable propelling rod 8 with a helical groove (Fig. 3, not shown) to receive and advance the open end portions of the ampoules after they have sagged following heat softening, and a cone 10 to press the end portions against the propelling rod 8 and to rotate and pull the end portions away from the ampoule bodies.
