Abstract

929,996. Sieve drum driers. H. HAAS. Sept. 17, 1959 [Sept. 20, 1958], No. 31666/59. Class 34 (1). A drum sieve drier having cover plates in each of the drums comprises successive drums of large and small diameter, the spacing of successive large diameter drums being not more than the diameter of the small diameter drums. Drying apparatus comprises sieve drums T 1 , T 2 mounted in parallel relationship and of successive large and small diameter. The spacing of the successive large drums being not more than the diameter of the small drums and with the top and bottom of the small drums being located below the centre line and bottom respectively of the large drums. Extractor fans are provided at both ends of each drum and cover plates (not shown) cover the interval periphery of the drum surfaces not covered by the web of material to be dried. A conveyer B is mounted beneath the drums touching the small drums and moving in the same direction to re-apply any dropped material thereto and vacuum nozzles (not shown) beneath the conveyer may be used when the cover plates of the small drums are displaced for cleaning the small drums, and the small drums are adapted to draw dust from the large drums when the fans of the large drums are inoperative.
