929,803. Control of motors. CREED & CO. Ltd. Sept. 9, 1960 [Sept. 12, 1959], No. 31173/60. Class 38 (3). [Also in Groups XIX and XXXVIII] Reading apparatus for punched or magnetic tape includes a control circuit 3 which receives the signals from read head 2 and responds to a predetermined signal to cause the motor driving rollers 6 to reverse and run the tape backwards at a much slower speed until the same signal is again received, when the tape is stopped, so that it is accurately positioned for continuing the reading later without loss of data. Switch 5 in the output line is opened by circuit 3 while the tape is being stopped.
