Abstract
929,150. Welding by fusion. MACHINE-TOOL WORKS OERLIKON ADMINISTRATION CO. April 18, 1961 [April 22, 1960], No. 13995/61. Class 83 (4). [Also in Group XXVIII] Cooling fluid supply and return pipes and a gas supply pipe for a gas shielded arc welding torch 27, Fig. 1, are connected to a socket on a control or supply unit P by a common plug 7. The cooling water pipes and gas pipe terminate in unions 5, 6, Fig. 2, having sealing rings 30 and fitting into holes 37, Fig. 4, in the socket 1. A cap nut 7a secures the plug 7 on the socket 1. The water return pipe connected to the union 5 houses the welding current supply cable 2. The pipes are in a single sheath 28 together with a cable 8 carrying current for an electrode feed motor and connected by a separate plug 8a to the control unit P. The control unit P is mounted with a gas cylinder 20 on a carriage 26 and comprises an hydraulic arrangement for circulating cooling water.
