Abstract

928,299. Valves. TEMPLE INSTRUMENTS Ltd., and G. W. GREENFIELD. July 31, 1961 [Aug. 11, 1960], No. 27791/60. Class 135. A rotary slide valve comprises a rotatable valve member 16 having a supply duct 21 for connection with a series of outlets 12. A resilient member 22, having an inwardlydirected annular flange 23 formed with a centre port 24 and a cylindrical wall, which is preferably tapered, is located in the duct 21 so that the supply pressure acts on the member 22 to form a fluid-tight seal with the wall of the duct and with the stationary valve seat surface. A passage 20 and groove 19 connects the duct 21 with the inlet 11. When the duct is aligned with an outlet 12, all the remaining outlets communicate with a chamber 14 and an exhaust.
