Abstract

928,004. Clamps. GENERAL ELECTRIC CO. Ltd. March 22, 1962 [March 20, 1961], No. 10055/61. Class 44. In an electric light fitting including one or more fixing clamps, each clamp comprises a bracket 4 carrying a captive screw 5 on which is threaded a nut 7 forming one of a pair of clamping jaws. On rotation of the screw in one sense the nut moves into an operative position towards the second clamping jaw i.e. flange 2 of a housing 1, and on rotation in the other sense the nut retreats from the second jaw and moves to a position at right angles to its clamping position. The nut 7 is fitted with a spring to prevent slipping. Specification 928,003 is referred to.
