Abstract
927,451. Syphonic flushing cisterns. GENERAL ELECTRIC CO. Ltd. Feb. 6, 1962 [Feb. 6, 1961], No. 4397/61. Class 26. In a flushing cistern for housing a syphon and made of moulded plastic material a strut 7 is fitted to extend across, and restrict flexing of, the cistern and can be located in at least two positions. The top edge of the cistern, which may be thickened to form a flange 4 to take a cover 5, has dove-tail-shaped recesses 6 into which fit the suitably-shaped ends 8 of the strut 7, which may be of channel form or of T section. Each free edge of the channelled strut or of the vertical web of the F section strut may be relieved by a semi-circular cut-out.
