Abstract

A grease comprises (1) a liquid siloxane of the average general formula R11nSiO 4-n,/2 wherein each R11 is a monovalent hydrocarbon, halohydrocarbon or cyanoalkyl radical and n has a value from 2,004 to 2,4 inclusive, (2) from 0,1 to 2% by weight of (1) of a siloxane of the formula <FORM:0926700/IV(a)/1> wherein each R is a methyl or phenyl radical, each R1 is H or R and a is an integer of from 10 to 500, and (3) a grease thickening agent, which may be a metal salt of a fatty acid, hydroxy fatty acid or hydroxy fatty acid glyceride, phthalocyanine, an inert oxide, e.g. SiO2, Al2O3, Fe2O3, TiO2 or ZnO, a complex metal soap, e.g. aluminium benzoate, stearate, an acyl urea, an aromatic substituted urea, or a phenylene diamide. The compositions may also contain pigments and other additives. Examples are given. Specification 630,911 is referred to.
