Abstract

926,096. Pile-driving heads. WEST'S PILING & CONSTRUCTION CO. Ltd. Oct. 20, 1961, No. 37718/61. Class 68 (2). A pile driving head is provided with a removable adapter d which has a flange a and spigot b, of the same profile as the inner surface of a tubular, e.g. concrete pile, so that it bears on the top of the pile with interposed cushioning washers. The adapter is joined to the head by bolts i, which head incorporates a hardwood dolly e within a helmet f having lugs h. The dolly e rests on an anvil g and bars j at the top of slots k, in which the lugs h move, are provided to prevent accidental ejection of the dolly. A number of adapters each suitable for a different pile may be provided for attachment to a single driving head.
