924,944. Guards for cookers. E. L. BILLET. Feb. 12, 1962 [Feb. 10, 1961], No. 4965/61. Class 126. A guard for the hot-plate of a cooking appliance comprises side walls 1, 2 of expanded metal, metal gauze or mesh, with sheet metal parts 4, 5 at the ends. Flanges 6 on the sheet metal parts 4 engage under the cooker top plate, while flanges 9, 11 on the sheet metal parts 5 engage the cooker splash plate. The guard is adjusted to various widths of cooker by screw-threaded tierods 15, 16, and the front is closed by gates 21, 22 pivoted to the side frames 1, 2 of the guard. The gates 21, 22 may overlap, and are held closed by a catch 23.
