911,785. Bolts and washers. BARWOOD, V. H. Oct. 18, 1960 [May 13, 1960], No. 35597/60. Class 89 (1). [Also in Group XXII] A screw-threaded fastener for providing a cushion or sealed joint has the head 11, Fig. 6, and shank 10 of metal and a washer 12 which may be of fibrous material, such as asbestos, or cardboard, or may be of synthetic resin or a flowable metal. The washer is interlocked with the thread (see Group XXII) and forms an assembly with a partially enclosing shell 15 presenting an outer concentric conical contour, Fig. 7. Alternative arrangements show the washer without any enclosing shell and with a metal ring washer between it and the head.
