Abstract
910,400. Turbine blades. ENTWICK. LUNGSBAU PIRNA VEB. Nov. 23, 1960, No. 40218/60. Class 110 (3). A hollow blade for axial-flow rotary machines, particularly turbines, comprises two cambered parts 1, 8, connected together at their leading and trailing edges, having bosses 3, 5 respectively, projecting from the inside of each part, the bosses on one half being staggered with respect to those on the opposite half, said bosses having different heights so that they interpenetrate and their free ends terminate short of the inside surface of the opposite part of the blade. A duet for the entry of cooling air, is located in the root of the blade. The bosses 3, 5 are tapered and their tips are rounded and their cross-section is square with rounded edges or alternatively circular except in the vicinity of the leading and trailing edges.
