Abstract

910,102. Transparency mounts. PERRAT, A. Aug. 9, 1961 [Feb. 8, 1961], No. 28722/61. Class 98 (2). A slide mounting for holding and protecting a transparency as at 1 pre-mounted in a support formed of two sheets as at 2, 3, which transparency is marginally held between the sheets in a manner that each face of the transparency forms a cavity together with the adjacent portion of the said support, in each of which cavities a protecting glass as at 6, 7 is lodged having a thickness which is larger than the depth of the respective cavity, and in which means are provided for holding each glass in its cavity, is characterized by a main frame as at 8 having a recess as at 9 receiving the said support equipped with the transparency and with the protecting glasses, said main frame having a window as at 10 receiving one of said protecting glasses, an auxiliary frame as at 11 being adjusted in the recess of the main frame and having a window as at 12 receiving the other protecting glass, and is further charac. terized by two covers as at 14, 15, each having a window as at 16, 17 of slightly smaller dimensions than the dimensions of the protecting glasses, the said covers being adapted to be fixed to the said main frame for holding in place the said protecting glasses and the said auxiliary frame. Preferably, the members 8 and 11 are of plastics material and the covers 14, 15 are metallic with side flanges engageable over a recess 13 running round the member 8. The flanges may engage the recess 13 over only a portion of each side (cf. Fig. 2, not shown), and any or all of the windows and glasses may have rounded corners. The glasses 6 and 7 may be slightly mat. Swiss Specification 319,603 is referred to.
