Abstract
910,086. Supporting lighting fittings. BULL, J. May 5, 1961 [May 27, 1960], No. 18871/60. Class 75 (3). [Also in Group XXV] In a method of supporting electric light fittings, one or more hook members extend through the central aperture of a conventional ceiling rose so that the hooked ends engage the interior of the rose, the hook members having loops at the opposite end to which can be connected one or more chains for supporting the fitting. The hook members 1 consist of a rod or wire formed at one end with a hook 2 having a spread not less than the diameter of the flex aperture of a ceiling rose 4 but otherwise of sufficiently small size to be accommodated inside the rose, the body of the member being thin enough to project downwards through the flex aperture and being formed at its other end into a loop 3 to which chains 5 supporting the fitting may be connected. Preferably, two hook members are used, the hooks 2 being in a plane at right-angles to the loops 3 so as to extend in opposite directions inside the rose, the loops then lying face to face.
