Abstract
918,435. Road vehicle bodies. DAIMLERBENZ A.G. Aug. 3, 1960 [Aug. 8, 1959], No. 26965/60. Class 108(1). A motor car saloon body in which the part of the body below the windowed middle part has its maximum length and width at or above the level of the tops of the tyres, and opposite side surfaces of the lower part of the body on the one hand and of the said middle part on the other are inclined in relation to each other,- the roof which projects on all sides outwardly beyond the top of the said middle part being flat so as to be loadable directly upon its surface over its entire area. In the event of deformation of the front or rear of the vehicle the buffer spaces 4, 6 prevent damage to other parts of the vehicle, e.g. the engine in space 16. Luggage spaces 9, 18, a fuel tank 8, a space 14 for rain water drainage and air ducts, and a space 15 for working parts of the car are also provided. The seats are removable and the floor depressions 23, 24 may be covered by plates 25 to form a flat surface. Shelf spaces 22, 26 and 27 are provided in the body, and the flat roof also provides. internal shelf spaces 29 all round. Reference has been directed by the Comptroller to Specifications 816,088 and 821,191.
