Abstract
<FORM:0917916/III/1> In the fractional crystallization process such as are described in Figs. 6-8 (not shown) wherein the crystals are separated out in each stage by means of a trough similar to that of Fig. 1. The crystals are melted and at least partially returned to a preceding stage. The fused mixture is contained in trough 1 while internally cooled disc becomes coated with crystal layer 4 which is melted in device 5 and the purified melt is withdrawn through pipe 6. The heating and cooling of the disc may be by electric means or by using hollow constructions with heat exchange liquids.
