Abstract

914,264. Constructional toys; educational appliances. STACHOWSKI, H. G. Sept. 26, 1960 [Dec. 7, 1959], No. 41587/59. Classes 132 (3) and 146 (2). A structural element for constructing three dimensional figures comprises an equilateral equiangular member formed of stiff material each side of the member being provided with a number of recesses 11 of equal length alternating with projections 12 which are defined by the recesses, a recess 11a being at the corresponding end of all the sides. The projections may be slightly longer than the recesses so that two elements may interengage at any angle. The elements may be stamped from sheet material such as paperboard or polythene. The thickness of the element is approximately one-third the depth of the recesses. A list of elements may comprise elements of various number of sides of equal length and which may be used for instructional purposes such as the teaching of solid geometry and crystallography.
