Abstract
Thiourea is prepared by reacting an aqueous suspension of calcium cyanamide with a gaseous mixture containing carbon dioxide and hydrogen sulphide at a temperature of up to 70 DEG C., and when the pH of the reaction medium has fallen to a value of from 6.0 to 6.1, stopping the reaction and separating the thiourea formed.
