[Also in Group XXXII] A ventilating and sound-proofing arrangement for rooms, compartments of railway cars &c. comprises a sound-absorbing panel 11 which includes a plane sheet 12 arranged in spaced parallel relationship to a wall or ceiling 10 of the room, a corrugated sheet 14 secured to the non- exposed face of the plane sheet to provide channels 16, 17 alternately closing and opening towards said wall, a clearance H being provided between the corrugated sheet 14 and said wall, two sets of openings 19, 20 in said sheets connecting the channels 16, 17, respectively, with the room, and means 22 in the clearance between the corrugated sheet and wall to admit to the said clearance ventilating or conditioning air for the room. The closed channels 16 may contain a fibrous filling.
