Abstract

900,275. Seed sowing machines. NATIONAL RESEARCH DEVELOPMENT CORPORATION. April 20, 1961 [March 1, 1960], No. 7302/60. Class 6(1). A seed sowing machine comprises an endless band 17 provided with holes which picks up seed delivered from a hopper 15 into a chamber 34 and passes over a base member 26 provided with at least one suction aperture, the member 26 acting to retain the seeds in the holes in the band until they pass the member 26 when they drop out of the holes on to the ground. A roller 36 retains the seeds in the chamber 34. The member 26 is connected to a source of suction and may be connected to a venturi attachment on the exhaust pipe of the tractor.
