Abstract

A substantially stable aqueous trypsin solution contains an amino acid and a calcium salt. The amino acid may be l-glutamine, glutamic acid, glycine, l-arginine, cysteine, dl-alamine, dl-isoleucine, l-lysine, dl-methionine, dl-phenylalanine, l-proline, hydroxy-l-proline, dl-serine, dl-threonine or dl-valine, and the calcium salt may be the acetate, citrate, chloride, glycerophosphate, glucoheptanate, gluconate, lactate, lactobionate, lactophosphate, pantothenate or levulinate.ALSO:A pharmaceutical preparation suitable for topical or parenteral use comprises an aqueous solution of trypsin stabilized by the addition of an amino acid and a calcium salt (see Group IV (b)).
