909,798. Hydraulic shock absorbers. WASDELL, W. K. May 2, 1960 [May 6, 1959], No. 15467/59. Class 108(3). A valved piston assembly for a hydraulic shock absorber comprises a pair of resilient valve discs 8, 8<SP>1</SP>, Fig. 1, having peripheral sealing engagement on each side of the piston 2 to control the flow in either direction through axial passages 5, apertures 9, 9<SP>1</SP> in the discs being alternately closed by secondary discs 10 which are moveable in recesses 3, 4. Bleed holes 12, 12<SP>1</SP> may be provided in the discs 8, 8<SP>1</SP> and the disc stiffness may be varied by selection of supporting washers 16, 16<SP>1</SP>.
