Abstract
909,047. Magnetic recording apparatus. BUSH & RANK CINTEL Ltd. Dec. 12, 1961 [Dec. 12, 1960; Nov. 10, 1961], Nos 42644/60 and 40318/61. Class 40 (2). A revoluble member carrying a number of mounting members each carrying a magnetic head thereon is provided with means for adjusting the peripheral position of each mounting member whereby the angular position of each head relative to the other heads may be adjusted. Several embodiments are described. Fig. 1 shows a head 5 mounted on a member 4 adjustable about a pivot 3 by conical screws 7, 8 and then locked in position by a clamping screw 9. A modification, Fig. 2, shows a slotted mounting member 4 also having the adjusting screws 7, 8, but also provided with further conical screws 12, 13 which effect a radial adjustment. A symmetrical arrangement of this method is shown in Fig. 3. Figs. 4, 5 and 7 (Fig. 7, not shown) illustrate embodiments in which circular mounting members are mounted in circular recesses and are subjected to limited movement about a pivot therein. The method of Figs. 5 and 7 include deformable spring links which effect a fine adjustment of the position of the mounting members.
