908,009. Laminates. BRITISH PETROLEUM CO. Ltd. Aug. 2, 1961 [Aug. 5, 1960; Nov. 14, 1960], No. 28048/61. Class 140. [Also in Groups XIX and XXIX] A casing which is mechanically resistant and proof against corrosion comprises a foil 3 which is resistant and impermeable to petroleum covered so as to be airtight inside and outside by board 5 which is treated with petroleum products. The foil may be 99.5% aluminium between 0.1 mm. and 1.0 mm., preferably 0.3-0.4 mm. thick, or it may be of a plastic such as synthetic rubber. The board 5 is bitumen board and 6 and 7 are layers of bitumen. The casing is used to prevent seepage from a buried tank (see Group XXIX).
