Abstract
906,350. Rockets. SCHERMULY PISTOL ROCKET APPARATUS Ltd. Dec. 9, 1960 [Dec. 11, 1959], No. 42158/59. Class 9 (2). A rocket has a sliding tail 3 comprising an annular support 11 attached to rod-like members 9 at or adjacent to their rearward ends such that it lies wholly within a circle defined by the radially outermost extremities of the members 9. The members 9 are of metal angle-section and attached at their forward ends to a band 8 which slides on the tube 4, comprising the body 2 of the rocket, and is stopped by the flared end of the tube 4 when the tail 3 is fully extended. Contact is made between the tail 3 and the cylindrical barrel of the discharger only at the outermost edges 10 in Fig. 4 of the members 9.
