Abstract

904,979. Mattresses &c. VITAFOAM Ltd. May 25, 1960 [May 27, 1959], No. 31627/61. Divided out of 904,978. Class 52 (4). Resilient webbing 13 of rubber or rubberized fabric is secured to the frame member 14 of a chair by means of a U-shaped metal clip 10 to which the webbing is secured by a moulding operation, the clip being treated with a bonding agent and the uncured material for strip 13 being placed with the clip in a mould to be subjected to heat and pressure. Rubber flows into holes in the clip to ensure efficient bonding. The clip may be riveted to an L-shaped member 16 or be a strip 20 of question mark shape to engage a frame member 23 (Fig. 4).
