Abstract
904,512. Friction clutches. ZAHNRADFABRIK FRIEDRICHSHAFEN A.G. April 20, 1961 [April 21, 1960], No. 14317/61. Class 80 (2). In a spring-engaged electromagneticallydisengaged clutch having friction discs 4 and a magnet coil 2 of substantially the same mean diameter, between which an axially movable armature 3 is disposed, a non-magnetic disc 10 on the clutch side of the armature or forming the clutch disc nearest the armature insulates the clutch discs 4 and an adjusting ring 8 from the flux path L, thus preventing an opposing magnetic drag on the armature during disengagement and reducing idling friction due to residual magnetism.
