893,868. Massage appliances. WAHL CLIPPER CORPORATION. April 28, 1960 [May 11, 1959], No. 14894/60. Class 81 (2). A massage pad comprises a easing formed from two dished sections 14, 16 having an electromagnetic vibrator attached to one section 16 in such a way that vibrations produced in the device are parallel to the upper surface 18. An armature 28 is attached to an angle-bracket 22 and a core member 38, carrying a coil 42, is mounted on a resilient U-shaped yoke 32, also secured to the bracket 22. The application of alternating current to the coil 42 causes the core 38 to vibrate in a horizontal plane and produce corresponding vibrations in the casing. Chattering and damage to the pole faces is prevented by a pad 45 of sponge material.
