Abstract
892,123. Glass &c. building blocks; daylight refractors. COMPAGNIE DE SAINTGOBAIN. July 10, 1958 [July 10, 1957], No. 22218/58. Classes 20(3) and 87(1) [Also in Group XXIII] A glass &c. plate which may form one wall of a hollow building block is provided on one face with parallel ribs and strips of varying opacity are applied to the same or the opposite face so that the light transmitted by the plate varies with the incidence of the light. In one form, Fig. 5, the ribs 2 form cylindrical lenses, and parallel strips 3, 3a, 3b of varying colours or opacities are applied to the opposite faces. In another form, Fig. 3, ribs 8 are formed on both faces of the plate and the strips 9 or 10 have one straight and one serrated edge. In a modification, the ribs 8 are formed on one face only. In another form, Fig. 6, the ribs 14 are of angular form with their faces 14a, 14b differently coloured.
