Abstract

892,115. Optical projection and viewing apparatus. EDITIONS LACROIX & LEBEAU. April 30, 1958, No. 13757/58. Class 97(1). A prepared sheet of cardboard or similar sheet material is folded to form a rectangular box as part of optical projection or viewing apparatus, a transparency being inserted from the side and located in the vicinity of the front of the box. In the viewer shown in Fig. 2 the rectangular box 1 is folded from a single sheet, the sides and top being shaped to form a hood surrounding a viewing aperture 5 in the front face past which the film is pulled through a guide 21, made from overlapping cardboard sheets and inserted through slots in the side faces. Additional cardboard strips are provided to secure an electric torch 9 to shine through a hole 8 in the bottom of the box. Various parts of the projector shown in Fig. 4 are bent from separate sheets. These comprise the lamphouse 23, the base 29 with ventilating holes 29<SP>1</SP>, the cover 28 and a bracket 30 secured to the front of the lamphouse to receive a sliding lens mount 31 similarly constructed. The lens is secured by apertured sheets within the mount. Slots in the top and sides of the bracket 30 guide a picture carrier 35 in a guide 34. The carrier is formed from superposed sheets apertured to provide slide' pockets.
