Abstract

891,109. Mincing. HOBART MANUFACTURING CO. Oct. 3, 1960 [Oct. 2, 1959], No. 33871/60. Class 28 (2). Minced food, particularly meat, is produced in an apparatus comprising two conventional mincers with a mixer interposed between them, the mixer 30 being supported in a position to receive the product discharged from the first mixer and provided with a paddle 125 serving to mix the minced product and pack it into the second mincer 32; the mixer and second mincer are driven from a common driving shaft 58. The mixer casing is formed in two parts 36, 38 held together by latches 42, and the paddle 125 is attached to a shaft 107 carried by a planet gear 108 actuated from a shaft 102. The paddle is so shaped as to exert a scraping action on the interior of the mixer and is provided with a packing finger 128 extending into the inlet opening of the second mincer. The motor driving the shaft 58 is under the control of a pedal-operated switch and a second switch 144 which is arranged to open the circuit when the mixer is dismantled.
