Abstract
898,871. Laminates and laminating. KOCH PROCESSES Ltd. Oct. 19, 1960 [July 20, 1959 ; March 4, 1960], Nos. 24908/59 and 7804/60. Class 140. [Also in Group XX] A plate for relief printing is made by bringing a layer of colloidal material 12, such as gelatin or a mixture of gelatin and fish glue, supported on a temporary film or other backing 13, into contact, in the presence of warm water supplied e.g. through a pipe 16, with a surface 10a of an aluminium, chromium plated steel or other metal plate 10 which has been roughened in a graining machine or by sand blast, pressing the surfaces together, as by a rubber or other rollers 14, 15, and removing the backing layer 13. To produce a thicker colloidal layer the above-produced laminate may be reprocessed.
