Abstract

898,106. Lock nuts. ELASTIC STOP NUT CORPORATION OF AMERICA. July 15, 1960 [Sept. 11, 1959], No. 24701/60: Class 89(1). A one piece metal lock nut has a hexagonal body 14, a deformed screwed bore 8, and an end flange 24. The hexagon is of smaller dimensions than the standard hexagon for said screwed bore, and the flange diameter lies between the diameter across the corners and flats of the hexagon. The deformations 22 are equally spaced circumferentially of the nut, and the flats may be recessed at the end 10 to increase flexibility.
