Abstract

898,050. Dispensing beer; injectors. AITKEN OF EDINBURGH (BARFITTINGS) Ltd. Sept. 1, 1960 [Sept. 4, 1959], No. 30193/59. Classes 71, 102(1) and 102(2). In a beer dispenser live ' beer is mixed with ' waste' beer drawn from a drip tray by the induction produced by the flow of live' beer through an injector. The dispenser comprises a manually-rotatable, tapered valve 6 and a fixed, parted plate 12, carrying an injector nozzle 15. ' Live beer under pressure from a pipe 4A passes through nozzle 15, via passages 8A and 16, producing suction in a passage 11A and a pipe 5 leading to the drip tray. Waste ' beer enters chamber 19, is entrained in the ' live ' beer flow and passes through an outlet 18. An alternative source of ' live ' beer in a pipe 4 may be dispensed by rotating valve 6 through 180 degrees. In a modification a further passage may be provided so that in one position of valve 6 only ' live ' beer is dispensed.
