Abstract
The phenoxymethylpenicillate of N - [41 - (betahydroxyethyl) - diethylenediamino - 11 - methyl]-tetracycline is prepared by interacting substantially equimolar quantities of phenoxymethylpenicillin, tetracycline base and N-hydroxyethyl - N1 - hydroxymethyl - diethylene diamine in an inert solvent such as water, methanol or isopropanol. Specification 888,968 also is referred to.
