Abstract

897,376. Pipe joints. UNIVERSAL FLAYMASTER EQUIPMENT CO. Ltd. June 30, 1960, No. 22909/60. Class 99(1). [Also in Group XXV]. A clamping member for connecting a branch pipe 7 to a main pipe 5, comprises two interlocking parts 1, 2 one of which has inturned longitudinal edges 3 to interlock with outturned longitudinal edges 4 on the other part so that the clamping member may be assembled by sideways movement of the two parts relatively to one another to cause the edges to interlock, a socket 10 for connection to the branch pipe provided on one of the parts of the clamping member and separate tightening means 8, 9 provided on one of the parts of the clamping member by means of which the assembled member may be secured in position around the pipe. A flexible disc may be inserted between the clamping member and the pipe to seal the socket opening when a particular take-off hole is no longer required.
