896,755. Centrifugal moulding machines. UNION SIDERURGIQUE ET INDUSTRIELLE. Sept. 7, 1960 [Sept. 9, 1959], No. 30793/60. Class 87(2). In a centrifugal moulding machine for the manufacture of cement pipes in which a mould M, is rotated by endless belts 11 forming a supporting cradle for the mould, lateral shaking movement of the mould is prevented or reduced by at least one pair of endless belts 13 engaging opposite sides of the mould. In the embodiment illustrated in Fig. 1 each belt 11 passes over two lower pulleys 12a and two upper pulleys 12b and the endless belts 13 each pass over a pair of pulleys 12a, 12b. The side 13 2 :of each belt which engages the mould is adjustable in shape for satisfactorily engaging moulds of different diameters, the adjustment being effected by a roller 14, held against the side 13 2 , and carried by a member 15 movable along an inclined slide 16 by an endless chain 18 operated by a handle 17. In another embodiment the endless belts 13 pass over a lower pulley 12a and an upper pulley additional to the pulleys 12b. In this embodiment each belt 13 is adjustable horizontally for co-operation with moulds of different diameters.
