Abstract

896,645. Roller conveyers. BLAW-KNOX CO. Feb. 19, 1960 [April 2, 1959], No. 5946/60 Class 78 (1). Elongated articles, e.g. lengths of welded pipe P, travelling at high speed in the direction of their length along a roller conveyer 11 are transferred to a cooling bed C, composed of screw conveyers by reciprocating members, each of which has pipe-engaging arms 17, 18, 19. Each arm 17 pushes the pipe up a fixed inclined wall 10 on to a downwardly-inclined apron 30 down which it slides on to a similar wall 40. The pusher 18 transfers it over this wall on to a wall 44 from which it is transferred to the bed C by the arm 19. The arms 17, 18, 19 are operated from shaft 29 via eccentric 27, rod 26, and bell-crank L pivoted at 22.
