Abstract

An anion-exchange resin comprises a cross-linked polymer containing haloalkyl groups which has been reacted with a polyamine in which adjacent nitrogen atoms are separated by a chain of at least 6 carbon atoms and in which there are at least two primary amine groups. The polymer may be polystyrene which has been cross-linked with between 1% and 15% of divinyl benzene, divinyl ketone or ethylene dimethacrylate. The polyamine may be hexamethylene diamine.
