Abstract

880,939. Root-crop harvesters. MAHDRESCHERWERK WEIMAR VEB. May 20, 1960, No. 17874/60. Class 6(3). [Also in Group XXX] A harvester for root crops has an endless conveyer comprising a pair of chains 1 between which are secured cross-bars 3, 4, there being several longitudinal series of upstanding members 2 of elastic material mounted on the bars, each member 2 being secured on two adjacent bars 3, 4 so as partially to overlap adjacent members 2 of the same series. The members 2 are maintained in position laterally of the conveyer by spacers 5 of elastic material, reinforcing tubular members 6 surrounding the bars adjacent the chains 1. In a modification, Fig. 4, thin walled spacers 7 of metal are used in place of the spacers 5 and flanged sleeves 8 held in place by spring washers are positioned at the ends of the spacers 7 with their flanges engaging opposite sides of the members 2.
