Abstract

889,897. Rocking chairs. VARRAN, L. T. Dec. 6, 1960, No. 41900/60. Class 52(2) A rocking chair has front end and back end supports which can alternatively or both be projected into engagement with the floor by an occupant of the chair to maintain the chair in one of at least two stabilized positions. As shown in Fig. 1, the supports are in the form of wheels 4, 15 at the front and rear of the chair. The wheels 4 may be retracted or projected by movement of a lever 14 located beneath an arm rest 2. A similar lever 26 is provided to retract or project the wheels 15. The wheels may be replaced by castors or by legs.
